  1. DATE AND VENUE

The tournament will be held on March 27 – 29, 2015 in the TRC “PODOLIYANI”

The tournament will start on March 27, 2015 at 16:00.

The tournament will end on March 29, 2015; the approximate time is 16:30.

The tournament will be played according to the Laws of Duplicate Contract Bridge and these Conditions of Contest.

  1. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Ukrainian Bridge Championship – 2015 will be organized as the pair tournament. The pair tournament will consist of 24-30 pairs.

 

  1. REGISTRATION

All potential participants of the pair tournament must be submitted electronically by 20:00 March 26, 2015, by e-mail: dmitry.manannkin@gmail.com, terforum@gmail.com  or by phone: +38 (067) 901-5873

 

  1. ENTRY FEE

There will be 400 UAH by pair fee.

 

  1. FORMAT

The tournament will be organized as a congress (4 or more sessions) and will consist of 96 – 128 boards.

The exact scheme depends on the number of participating pairs.

 

Players are expected to complete each 2 board round in 15 minutes (each 3 board round in 22 minutes). The penalty for slow play is 10% MP for every 2 minutes, for being late to the beginning of the round – 10% MP . The Tournament Director may remove unplayed boards from players if in his opinion the round would otherwise strongly exceed the allotted time.

 

  1. SYSTEMS POLICY AND CONVENTION CARDS

HUM systems and Brown stickers are not allowed (ex. Multi). Psyching conventional of artificial opening bids are forbidden. All participants must have two copies of the duly filled convention card.

 

  1. ALERTING

The participants of the pair tournament should follow the official Alerting Policy of the Europian Bridge Federation/

 

  1. PROCEDURAL PENALTIES

In accordance with the Laws of Duplicate Contract Bridge the Tournament Director, in addition to implementing the rectifications in the Laws, may also assess procedural penalties for any offence that unduly delays or obstructs the game, inconveniences other contestants, violates correct procedure, or requires the award of an adjusted score at another table.

 

  1. LEAVING THE PLAYING AREA

No player may leave his seat during a round unless accompanied by a person designated by the Tournament Director. If any player leaves the playing area during a round without permission of the Tournament Director, that player’s pair will be fined 10%MP in the pair tournament.

 

  1. SMOKING REGULATIONS

Smoking in the playing area and toilets is prohibited. No player may leave the playing area in order to smoke. Any player found to be smoking during a round will cause his team to be fined 10%MP

 

  1. ALCOHOL

The consumption of alcoholic beverages of any nature in the playing area and toilets is prohibited. No player may leave the playing area in order to consume alcohol. Any player found to be consuming alcohol during a round will cause hispair to be fined 10%MP in the pair tournament.

 

  1. MOBILE PHONES

No player may have a mobile phone during a round. Any player found during a round with a mobile phone will cause his pair to be fined 10%MP in the pair tournament. The Chief Tournament Director may, at his discretion, prohibit a player from bringing other equipment into the playing area.

 

  1. SPECTATORS

All spectators are invitees of the Organizing Committee and their presence at the tournament is subject to their behaving in a correct, ethical and sportsmanlike manner and to their observing this condition of contest, and the laws of the game, to which they are subject. The number permitted shall be determined by the Chief Tournament Director. Spectators must remain at one table. The observance of this regulation is particularly important. Any spectator who attempts to move to a second table will be required to leave the room for the remainder of the round. Spectators are requested to remain quiet and to refrain from addressing the players or otherwise distracting their attention. Looking at two hands is forbidden. If this opportunity should arise by accident no special interest may be shown. Sitting in a position so as to see both sides of the screen is forbidden. Spectators who violate any restrictions of this Conditions of Contest will be disqualified from the playing area automatically.

 

  1. SCORE CORRECTIONS

Score corrections may be made as sanctioned in Law 79 and in Laws 69 and 71, 63 and 64. An agreed-upon score that is proven to be erroneous to the complete satisfaction of the Chief Tournament Director may be corrected up to thirty minutes after the posting of scores of the respective round. This period maybe extended by the special decision of the Chief Tournament Director.

 

  1. APPEALS

The appeal notification should be made to the Director within thirty minutes of the end of the round during which the ruling was made; or in the case of a ruling given after the end of such round, within thirty minutes of receiving the ruling.

The appeal should be in writing on the special appeal form.

The appeal should be accompanied by a deposit of 150 UAH.

 

  1. CHANGES IN REGULATIONS

The Organizing Committee of the tournament has a right to make some changes to these Conditions of Contest in order to increase the comfort for the participants.
